Our vibrant community at Aveda Arts is comprised of individuals from various backgrounds and walks of life, each united by a shared passion for beauty. From recent high school graduates to professionals seeking a fresh start, our students bring a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to our classrooms. 

Aveda Arts Charlotte student, Ruth Moore, decided to make the leap into the beauty industry at the age of 45 to pursue her passion for esthiology. 

Choosing to pursue a career change at a pivotal moment in life is no small feat, yet she embraced this challenge with grace and determination. “I decided to get my esthetician license at a crossroads in my career,” she shared. “I desired more flexibility and doing something I truly enjoy.” 

What led her to choose Aveda Arts? It was a combination of factors that made her education choice easy. “I chose Aveda because of financial aid, the schedule, and the reputation Aveda has in the beauty industry.” 

But beyond the practical aspects, Moore was drawn to Aveda’s holistic approach to beauty. “I believe that outward beauty stems a lot from the inside out, and that’s my focus for my work,” she emphasized. “I love encouraging women to love themselves, and taking care of our skin and physical health is all part of that.” 

Starting over in a new field at 45 may seem daunting to some, but Moore shared it’s been a journey of growth and self-discovery. “Even on the worst days when everything feels hard, I’m so glad I chose to jump in!”
