Many myths and misconceptions in the beauty industry can lead to misinformation. We’re debunking some of the most common myths and showing you what it’s really like to pursue a career in Cosmetology.
Myth 1: Cosmetology is just for younger people.
Though many of our students start their journey in the beauty industry following their high school graduation, we have students of all ages! Many people decide to pursue their passion later in life or after a career change. It’s truly never too late to follow a career path you love!

Myth #2: Career Options are limited.
A common misconception is that you can only become a hairstylist with a Cosmetology license. In fact, many of our students pursue different career paths upon graduation. Career opportunities include becoming a makeup artist, fashion show stylist, beauty educator, film makeup artist and more. It’s safe to say the possibilities are endless.

Myth #4: Programs are too expensive.
While there is a financial investment, it is typically less expensive than a traditional 4-year education. You’re making the decision to invest in your future and provide yourself with a career you enjoy! Our schools accept financial aid for those who qualify to help you achieve your dreams of becoming a beauty professional.
