OUR Instructor training program

instructor training coursework —

As part of our Instructor Training program, you’ll spend most of your time learning how to teach the foundations of your licensed field to new cosmetology or esthetics students. The Cosmetology pathway primarily focuses on teaching hair cutting, styling, and color, as well as other disciplines in beauty, whereas the Esthiology pathway of course focuses on teaching skincare and makeup.

You’ll combine theoretical learning about the science of teaching with hands-on experience in the fundamentals of teaching and learning methods, coursework development, and how to evaluate student performance.

In the Instructor Training program, you’ll also enhance your technical knowledge in your chosen field to reinforce and train techniques and develop new skills. Particularly for trainees who didn’t get an Aveda beauty education, you’ll also learn about signature Aveda rituals, treatments, and pure plant- and flower-based products.

Once you complete the program and pass your exams, you’ll be qualified to teach part- or full-time in a licensed cosmetology or esthetician school or work as a wellness educator or consultant.
