Aveda Arts & Sciences Institutes, founded in 1997 (formerly known as Beauty Basics) is a group of 18 Aveda Institutes spanning across 10 states, owned and operated by Neill Corporation. We redefine how the beauty industry is perceived by casting beauty education as a platform for aspiring creative professionals. Our institutes prepare students to make their mark on the world by igniting their passion and transforming it into a purpose.

Our Leadership
Edwin Neill II, our president and CEO of Aveda Arts & Sciences Institutes and Neill Corporation, has a rich family history in the beauty industry, spanning over six decades. Over the years, Edwin has held various leadership roles within Neill Corporation, overseeing operations, sales, and finance. He became the head of Neill Corporation in 2004, bringing his extensive experience and knowledge to the helm. In 2023, Edwin was named BeautyMatter NEXT Awards “Changemaker of the Year.” As a leading Aveda distributor and family of beauty businesses, Neill Corporation is committed to supporting salon partners through education, innovation, and technology services. Neill’s dedication to the beauty industry aligns with the company’s mission to help everyone reach their full potential.
Traci Sakosits, our esteemed Vice President of Education and Creative, plays a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience at Aveda Arts & Sciences Institutes. Her leadership and expertise ensure that our curriculum stays current with the latest trends and techniques in the beauty industry.
