Our annual scholarship program, the Anthony Fantroy Memorial Scholarship, is dedicated to empowering college-aged students who may not have the financial resources to pursue a post-secondary education, opening doors to a brighter future in the beauty industry. 

The scholarship is named in honor of Anthony Fantroy, our beloved Aveda Arts Dallas Educator, who left an indelible mark on our community. For over nine years, Fantroy was a guiding force, inspiring both students and staff with his dedication and passion. 

What makes this scholarship particularly special is its focus on supporting students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. We aim to break down the barriers that often prevent talented individuals from pursuing their dreams. 

We recently caught up with some of our previous scholarship recipients who are making remarkable strides toward completing their education. 

Kadence Hart, our 2023 winner from Covington, shared her excitement about the hands-on skills she’s learning. “I love learning all the techniques with highlighting and coloring services,” she said. Kadence plans to specialize in hair extensions, offering this advice to future cosmetology students: “You can’t come in thinking you know everything. You will make mistakes, and you will have to learn from them.” 

Jiannah Patrick, a Minneapolis graduate who received the scholarship in 2022, expressed how the experience has enhanced her confidence and creativity. “I’ve enjoyed gaining knowledge during my education and connecting with other creatives in the industry. I’m looking forward to growing while also maintaining confidence and passion for helping people,” she said.
