OUR Instructor training program

instructor training coursework —

Our Instructor Training program at our Birmingham campus prepares you for Alabama’s state licensing exam for instruction and is designed to teach you all the skills needed to start a satisfying new career as an entry-level beauty instructor.

During your training, you’ll dive into the theory and methods vital to a career in education, such as teaching challenges and characteristics, planning for effective instruction, and the procedures and processes of teaching.

Other modules are aimed at giving you the skills to create a positive classroom environment, develop a course of study and instructional aids, evaluate student performance, and apply teaching theory to your practice.

how long does it take? —

We know time is of the essence when it comes to advancing your career, so we’ve split our Instructor Training into two different pathways: one for those new to the hair and beauty industry and one for professionals with more experience.

Licensed cosmetologists and estheticians with over a year of on-the-job experience can complete our 650-hour curriculum in just five to seven months. Alternatively, if you’ve been working in the industry for less than one year, you’ll enter our 1,500-hour pathway, which takes 12 to 18 months for you to gain the hours to become an educator.

Our Instructor Training program’s specific weekly class schedule can vary over time, so please reach out for the latest up-to-date information.

what’s needed to enroll? —
