If you’re a licensed cosmetologist, esthetician, or nail tech with a desire to share what you know with aspiring beauty professionals, consider enrolling in Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute Covington’s 500-hour Instructor Training program. This program prepares you to be either a full-time or part-time educator.
Students who complete our program graduate prepared to be an educator in their beauty field of expertise. If you didn’t graduate from an Aveda program, this program will also equip you to be an instructor with knowledge about Aveda’s trademark products, techniques, and rituals.

Trainees in the Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute Covington instructor program learn about teaching methods and the science of teaching, the qualities of a good instructor, and skills for maintaining a quality learning environment.
Teaching methods, teacher assistance, and observation make up 150 hours of the program content. For this section, students take classes in classroom preparation, teaching methods, and speech. Effective instruction and teaching methods courses and assessments make up 175 hours.
Also, 25 hours are spent on honing your instructor qualities such as proper conduct and classroom supervision.
The remaining 150 hours consist of learning environment courses, like creating classroom conditions, motivating students, and assessing students’ needs.
how long does it take? —
The Instructor Training course at Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute Covington is designed for licensed cosmetologists, estheticians, and manicurists who wish to learn to teach others their craft.
It’s a 500-hour program, which typically takes 16 weeks to complete. However, you have a maximum of six months to finish the program. Students have 31.25 hours of instruction per week. Courses begin on a rolling basis throughout the year.
