Our campus is comprised of two charming brick buildings on both sides of Thomas Street in the heart of downtown Hammond. Esthetics students and clients alike soak in the quaint old-town vibe outside and the stylish multi-level spa and classroom areas inside. Come in and feel right at home!
If you know downtown Hammond, you know just how many independent shops, restaurants, and other amenities are literally steps away. Whether it’s coffee at Luma or Courtyard Café or grabbing lunch with classmates at Streetside Market or Shack’s Deli, our esthetician students have plenty of options to explore outside of training hours. You can seamlessly weave in what you need to do for everyday life with the many banks and grocery stores near campus.

Esthiology
The Esthiology program at Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute Hammond prepares you for a future as a skincare specialist. Our curriculum emphasizes both the knowledge you need to earn your license as well as a deep dive into Aveda products and spa techniques using pure plant essences.
Coursework and training covers many aspects of what practicing estheticians need to know to make clients’ skin glow from the inside out. Topics include skin analysis, proper product selection, using massage and aromatherapy, nutrition, and more.

Educator ESTHI —
Arsheenique, known as Nique, has been apart of the Aveda family since January 2024. She completed Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute and became state board licensed est 2020. Additional to being an Esthiology Educator, she operates her own Esthetics business called Unique Aesthetics, where she has been a solo Esthetician since 2023. Nique has worked with different spas and was a manager at Sephora for almost 3 years before becoming an Educator. She is currently a Biochemistry student at Southern University A&M College with aspirations of becoming a Dermatologist. Nique’s favorite part of teaching is sharing knowledge and being able to be her goofy, bubbly self while doing so!

Tay Tay has been working at Aveda in Hammond since 2022. She graduated in 2018, and always knew she wanted to be an educator. She got her educator license in 2023, and has had experience as both Advanced Educator and Intro Theory Educator. Hi there! Aveda Cosmetology Graduate here! I’ve been the hair industry for 15+ years and a Esthiology educator for three at Aveda Arts And Institutes. I love being an educator for Aveda and being around all of the products is a plus! Boy mom and owner of Feaux Fizzle skin care line focusing on organic bath bombs. I’m grateful for my team here and I truly love our campus layout, right in the center of downtown Hammond . I enjoy being able to outsource for demos and other career driven women in our industry to show protocols for the students to get to enjoy while here. In addition to our protocols I try to bring them as much extra curriculum within our same occupations so that they thrive in their future🫶🏼

She graduated from our Hammond campus in esthiology program in the fall of 2018, receiving her estheticians license shortly after. She has been an educator since Fall 2021 at our Hammond campus. When not at school, you can find her with her 5 rescued pets, her husband or her nose in a book.

Karlie Simmons started her journey with Aveda in 2010 when she enrolled for Cosmetology at our Covington Campus. Karlie came back to Covington as the Retail Manager in 2016 and become the Director in 2021. In 2024 she joined the Hammond campus and is now at both locations. Karlie is a mom of two boys. You can find her soaking up family time when she’s not at work.
