Do you dream of entering the dynamic world of natural skincare? The Lafayette campus of the Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute offers a second-to-none Esthiology (esthetician) program. Here, you’ll work with our team of exceptional educators to learn everything there is to know about starting as an esthetician, from the classroom to hands-on practice in our student clinic simulating a real-world spa setting.
From foundational knowledge to clinical techniques using the celebrated Aveda line of plant and flower essence-based products, our students cover it all and leave ready to embark on a fulfilling path in the wide world of skincare.
OUR ESTHIOLOGY CURRICULUM
what will you learn in the Esthiology Curriculum? —
The Esthiology program at Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute Lafayette is about more than just the ideas behind skincare. It’s about preparing you for a successful career in esthetics, including fulfilling the requirements for state licensing.
In this program, you’ll study a wide range of theoretical topics, from skin conditions and disorders to anatomy and physiology, safety and sanitation, and general chemistry. With this foundational knowledge, you’ll be able to perform various restorative, rejuvenating, and preventive skincare techniques.
As a student in our Esthiology program, you’ll get ample opportunities to apply what you have learned in our on-site clinic spa, working with real clients to rejuvenate, balance, and purify their skin. Our instructors will also take you through a variety of other essential spa treatments such as facial massage, hair removal, makeup application, and more.
Through the entire curriculum, in keeping with the Aveda ethos, we emphasize the importance of natural beauty and holistic wellbeing in providing a luxury spa experience.

How long does it take?
The 750-hour Esthiology program at Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute Lafayette typically takes between six and nine months to complete, with 30 hours of training scheduled per week.
Classes are held Wednesday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break every day. Our central Lafayette location provides plenty of activities to enjoy in your downtime.

To enroll in the Esthiology program at Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute Lafayette, you must meet these basic requirements for entry:
Age – 16 years
Education – High school diploma (or equivalent)
Other Requirements – Submit an application, pay a $100 non-refundable application fee, submit a letter of recommendation, a letter of intent, a government-issued ID with proof of age and photo, and a social security card. You must also schedule an interview with an Admissions team member.
