OUR ESTHIOLOGY CURRICULUM
what will you learn in the Esthiology Curriculum? —
Our Esthiology program at Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute New Orleans is designed to equip you with the skills you need to jumpstart a career as an esthetician.
The esthetics coursework is split between introductory and clinical portions.
The first half covers much of what you need to know for the state licensing exam, like sanitation procedures, skin sciences, and introductory chemistry. You’ll also encounter other theory topics, such as human anatomy, skin disorders, and how nutrition impacts skin health.
The second half concentrates on hands-on training covering a wide array of esthetics services, including facials, makeup application, waxing, and aromatherapy. Our New Orleans campus houses multiple private spa rooms where you can develop skills in a real-world spa setting. During this clinical portion of the program, you’ll cover everything from product selection and skin analysis to hair removal and client relationship skills.
By the time our students complete the required 750 hours, they’re not only ready to tackle Louisiana’s esthetician board exam, but also have the skills and product knowledge needed to launch their careers as skincare specialists.
