Charlotte Esthiology

The Esthiology program at Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute Charlotte prepares students to launch exciting, creative careers as estheticians or skincare specialists. It mixes instruction in skincare theory with hands-on, practical experience to ensure students are ready for their licensing exams and the future.  

You’ll start by studying skincare science, covering subjects such as anatomy and physiology, sanitation and sterilization, general chemistry, and nutrition. You’ll then learn to perform a wide variety of treatments, including skin analysis, cleanses, massage, facials, hair removal, wax treatments, makeup application, and aromatherapy. You’ll also cover basic esthetics business practices, such as professional ethics and retail sales, to help you enter the industry at any level. 

Here at Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute—Charlotte, we’re all about natural beauty. As part of that commitment, we teach our students how to use Aveda pure plant and flower essences and in the luxurious spa techniques for which Aveda is known worldwide.  

Our 600-hour Esthiology program is designed for full-time attendance at 30 hours per week. Our future estheticians typically complete their training in around five months. 

We have two schedules available, so it’s easier than ever to fit your studies around other commitments. Our three-day curriculum runs Monday through Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and our four-day curriculum runs Thursday through Saturday. The four-day schedule’s classes run from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays. 

Both options include a one-hour lunch break each day, when you have a chance to take a moment for yourself or pick up something from one of our delicious local eateries. 

Before you can enroll in the Esthiology program at the Charlotte campus, you will need to meet some basic requirements: 

Age: 16 years 

Education: High school diploma (or equivalent) 

Other Requirements: Submit an application, pay a $100 non-refundable application fee, submit a letter of recommendation, a letter of intent, a government-issued ID with proof of age and photo, and a social security card. You must also schedule an interview with a member of our Admissions team.
