Austin Esthiology
At Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute Austin, we offer an exciting, creative Esthiology (esthetics) program for all you aspiring skincare specialists. Our Esthiology program students excel in a wide variety of beauty treatments and techniques, including facials, waxing services, and makeup artistry—so whatever it is you love about skincare and skin health, you’re sure to find it here at our Austin campus!
OUR ESTHIOLOGY CURRICULUM
As an Aveda educational institution, we’re committed to a natural skincare approach. Our students learn how to use pure plant and flower essences in their treatments, then gain core knowledge of Aveda products, spa techniques, and everything else needed to pass the state licensing exam—and beyond.
The program is divided into two phases, with theory classes and clinical training. The classroom-based intro section covers the fundamentals of skincare, including sanitation, skin diseases and disorders, and nutrition. Then, it’s time to start the practical portion, where the fun really begins!
You’ll dive hands-on into topics like facial massage techniques, hair removal, aromatherapy, and makeup application. Practical training is a core part of our curriculum, so we make sure that you get to spend as much time as possible working with real clients with the support and supervision of licensed estheticians. You’ll also get an extra boost from learning to use the campus’s on-site HydraFacial machines—giving you an extra service you are trained to provide as a full-fledged esthetician.
Beyond the classroom, our students participate in social media contests, fashion shows, and exciting volunteer opportunities, including during Pride. We also host twice-yearly career fairs, so you can connect with the job market before graduation and get a head start into the industry.
