what will you learn in the Esthetician Curriculum? —

At Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute—Corpus Christi, you’ll explore an engaging curriculum that builds on esthetics theory with hands-on practical experience. First, you’ll gain a thorough primer in skin composition and biology, as well as other relevant human physiology, chemistry, and nutrition topics. 

Our expert instructors then help our students develop skills through a jam-packed curriculum. Topics range widely and include skin analysis, draping, cleansing, mask therapy, hair removal, and aromatherapy. Skincare procedures and techniques use all-vegan Aveda brand products, powered by pure plant and flower essences. In this way, our Esthetician program truly brings together modern skincare and natural techniques and ingredients rooted in traditional knowhow. 

You’ll learn how to address common skin issues and perform consultations with clients about effective skincare procedures and to select products and techniques that will be best for them. Outside the classroom, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to practice your new skills on real clients craving relaxation and rejuvenation—both in our on-site salon and during community field trips—with the support of your experienced instructors. 

how long does it take? —

Our Corpus Christi Esthetician program includes 750 hours of training, which takes just 25 weeks (six months). Classes run Wednesday through Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Students have a one-hour lunch break each day, during which you can enjoy some downtime at the shops and restaurants in the Six Points district. 

what’s needed to enroll? —

To enroll in the esthetician program at our Corpus Christi campus, you must meet the following requirements: 

Age: 16 years (note: you must be 17 years old to take the licensing exam) 

Education: High school diploma (or equivalent) 

Other Requirements: Submit an application, pay a $100 non-refundable application fee, submit a letter of recommendation, a letter of intent, a government-issued ID with proof of age and photo, and a social security card. You must also schedule an interview with an Admissions team member.
