Calling all natural skincare enthusiasts: the Esthiology (esthetician) program at Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute Dallas is a premier education in a premier setting. Our Esthiology program is designed to prepare you for a successful career in skincare and wellness, incorporating the exceptional sustainable, plant-based line of products the Aveda name is known for.
Also known as esthetics, your esthiology training primarily covers skincare treatments, such as facials, cleansing, and masking. Additionally, you’ll learn about makeup application, hair removal, aromatherapy, nutrition, color psychology, safety and sanitation, and more. OUR ESTHIOLOGY CURRICULUM
what will you learn in the Esthiology Curriculum? —
At Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute – Dallas, the bulk of the Esthiology program (225 hours) is on skincare treatments, including facials, cleansing, masking, and therapy. Students also learn to apply makeup (75 hours), use and operate esthiology tools (75 hours), perform hair removal treatments (25 hours), and understand aromatherapy (15 hours).
The remaining 335 hours of instruction are on topics critical to your success as a skincare professional, such as chemistry and anatomy, salon management, nutrition and wellness, and safety and sanitation.
The cornerstone of your esthetician training is experience using Aveda’s patented, all-natural beauty and wellness products. When you graduate, you’ll have all the skills of a beginning esthetician, with the added benefit of knowing how to select, use, and sell Aveda’s popular beauty and wellness products.
All of your training takes place in our LEED-certified green building. This hidden marvel in the upscale Shops at Park Lane includes a well-appointed professional day spa environment as well as Aveda Experience center for students to practice their burgeoning clinical and retail skills.

How long does it take?
The Esthiology program at Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute Dallas includes 750 hours of training and takes six to nine months to complete, depending on whether you are able to proceed through the program full time (30 hours per week).
Students may select from an A or B schedule, depending on their needs. The A-side schedule occurs on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of each week, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., while the B-side schedule takes place on Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Regardless which schedule you choose, you will get a one-hour lunch break each day.
Courses occur on a rotating basis, with new cohorts beginning frequently.
What’s needed to enroll?
You must meet these requirements to be eligible for the esthiology program at Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute Dallas:
Age: 16
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Other Requirements: Must provide state-issued photo ID, Social Security number, proof of U.S. citizenship, letter of intent, and letter of recommendation
