OUR Instructor training program

Our Instructor Training curriculum prepares educator trainees for state licensing exams. Since our trainees are already trained and licensed in cosmetology or esthetics, this program focuses on growing your understanding of effective teaching methods and evaluation. 

Your 400 hours of coursework and hands-on experience include curriculum development and lesson planning, teaching techniques, presentation of theory and practical subjects, and a teaching practicum, among other topics. 

Just as you want your students to seek help from you as their instructor, we want you to get assistance and support from our experienced Arlington staff when you need it. We advise educator trainees on everything from their progress and attendance to career opportunities and subjects they have questions about. 

how long does it take? —

The Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute—Arlington’s Instructor Training program is 400 hours long and takes just over three months to complete. Enrollment is on a rolling basis, and your exact schedule depends on several factors. Talk to us today to learn about what your schedule could look like. 

what’s needed to enroll? —

If you want to enroll in the esthetics program at Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute – Arlington, you’ll need to hold an active cosmetology or esthetician license in the state of Virginia. Other requirements include submitting an application, paying a $100 non-refundable application fee, submitting a letter of recommendation, a letter of intent, a government-issued ID with proof of age and photo, and a social security card. You must also schedule an interview with our Admissions team.
