OUR Instructor training program
instructor training coursework —
In our Seattle Instructor Training program, licensed beauty professionals gain the experience and knowledge required to teach part-time or full-time in their field of beauty. In addition to honing essential teaching skills, graduates often come away with a deep knowledge of Aveda products and techniques and the philosophies behind them.
The first phase of our Instructor Training program introduces the foundational elements of instruction. In this 162-hour introductory phase, trainees explore what it means to be an educator while examining various learning styles. You are also introduced to lesson planning, classroom management, supervision, and how to create a positive and effective learning environment.
The second phase encompasses 162 hours and dives into more advanced topics. You can learn about instructional methods, program development, effective communication and presentations, and strategies for overcoming challenges. Instructor training students also gain an understanding of assessing learner progress and student coaching.
Before completing this program, our Seattle students prepare for Washington’s state board exam for instructor licensing. This culminating phase also touches on curriculum development and refining presentation and technical skills.
