Education has always been at the center of Fene’s career.
Before joining Aveda Arts Houston nearly two years ago, she spent years helping others learn and grow as a Pre-K and Kindergarten teacher, fitness instructor, and personal trainer. While the settings may have changed, her passion for guiding people toward their goals has remained the same.
“I have always been in the education field,” Fene says. “I love the interaction and the growth I get to experience.”
Today, she brings that same energy and enthusiasm into the esthiology classroom, where she teaches both Intro and Spa students as they begin their journey into professional skincare.

“I really love providing guidance and enthusiasm for our profession. I enjoy the moments of ‘A-HA!’”

One of Fene’s proudest accomplishments at Aveda Arts Houston was seeing her very first Spa class successfully reach graduation together.
“My proudest moment at Aveda would have to be when I got all my first-time Spa students to graduate on time. They were all so confident and dedicated.”
Watching students work hard, overcome challenges, and achieve their goals is what continues to inspire her every day.

While skincare knowledge and technique are essential, Fene believes confidence is one of the most valuable things students can gain during their esthetics education.
“The best takeaway I hope to provide is confidence while also allowing them to know that they don’t have to know everything. They will just keep getting better and more successful in their careers.”

A Passion for Oncology Esthetics
Outside of the classroom, Fene is passionate about expanding access to oncology esthetics education.
She hopes to become more involved with the Ricardo Fisas Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides continuing education in oncology aesthetics and supports cancer patients through specialized skincare services.
“My vision is to involve Aveda as a hosting site for the education and become an instructor for them.”
