Cosmetology Student Spotlight

Shauntese Kirk

Shauntese knew from the young age of 5 that she wanted to do hair. Her mother can attest to this because at this age she was always watching her mom do hair and asking questions about it. Since attending Aveda she has absolutely fallen in love with the company and her favorite product is the Texturizing cream. She fully embodies what the Aveda mission is and what it stands for. From the sourcing of products to the sustainable efforts and giving back to society. In her spare time, Shauntese loves to watch hair videos of people who inspire her from the industry. She is sad about her journey coming to an end as graduation is soon approaching, but she is very excited to begin a knew journey hopefully working in an Aveda Salon.

Meghan Perkins

Meghan transferred to Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute Birmingham from Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute Nashville to be closer to her grandmother. She has come such a long way in her time as a student. She had a dream of working in New York at an Aveda salon, with only 20 days left until her graduation, Meghan flew to NY to interview and shadow at Fourteen Salon in Tribeca. The salon, of course, loved her and they want her to start at the beginning of June!

Esthiology Student Spotlight

Rita Dehner

Rita will soon be an Aveda graduate in the June Esthiology class. For as long as she can remember she has been interested in makeup and Esthetics. Rita treats each Aveda guest with such knowledge and expertise, we love watching her work with them. She looks forward to staying in the Aveda network after Graduation. Her favorite spa service is the Perfecting Plant peel because it gives her guests great results!

Sheena Bullock

Sheena has been in the field of Cosmetology for 6 years. But skin care is always something that has interested her. Loving all things natural she immediately gravitated to Aveda for Esthetics. Beyond skin care she loves to read, listen to music, dance and learn new things. She is an incredible student always taking the initiative to help where needed. Her hard work and dedication are going to get her so far in this field! We can’t wait to see where she begins her journey after her June graduation.
