Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute
Minneapolis Esthiology
The Esthiology and Advanced Practice Esthiology programs at Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute Minneapolis are all about getting you trained to be on the cutting edge of esthetics. Our esthetician programs can help you turn your love of skincare into a skilled career. For those who want to dive deeper, Advanced Practice Esthiology covers skills and theoretical knowledge that advanced estheticians and medical estheticians may need.
There’s no better place to start your career in skincare than at our flagship Minneapolis campus, an internationally acclaimed center of learning that is the very essence of what Aveda founder Horst Rechelbacher envisioned.
With both these programs, you can prepare for the state of Minnesota’s licensing exams to become either an esthetician or an advanced practice esthetician.
OUR Traditional Esthiology program
what will you learn in the Esthiology Curriculum? —
The program includes both theory instruction and practical, hands-on instruction to ensure you have the knowledge and skills to begin a career as an esthetician. The program is designed to fulfill the training requirements that the state of Minnesota sets out for a practicing esthetician.
The first section of the Esthiology program includes theory courses on anatomy, dermatology, and chemistry as foundational knowledge for skincare. Students also learn the safety procedures necessary to provide a sterile environment and control infection.
Clinical training offers real-world practice with a set number of facials, makeup applications, waxes, and other treatments to qualify for graduation. Our expert instructors will guide and support you, providing feedback and assistance to enhance your experience and provide excellent client care along the way.
In addition, you will gain background knowledge about using Aveda’s pure flower and plant essence-based products in consultation with your client. You’ll be prepared to launch your career as an esthetician in a salon, spa, clinic, or even start your own skincare-related business.
