This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we wanted to show our support for those whose strength inspires us every day—breast cancer survivors.
Throughout October, all Aveda Arts locations proudly offered complimentary shampoo and styling sessions or 30-minute facials to breast cancer survivors. This was our way of providing a moment of relaxation, self-care, and celebration to those who have faced incredible challenges.
Our Charlotte location invited survivor Shardell Artist to come in for a free facial or shampoo styling service. “We are so excited for them to be a part of this opportunity,” Charlotte Director, Kortanya Hawkins said. “Just to care for people, offer a moment of wellness, and feel beautiful inside and out.”
We were deeply honored to have this initiative featured in Southern Living magazine, a testament to the impact of this program. Our team of students and educators embraced this opportunity wholeheartedly, delivering services that not only enhanced outer beauty but also uplifted the spirit.
In addition to honoring survivors, we also worked to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Our Hammond location partnered with Downtown Yoga to host a yoga class, where participants donated $15 to join. All proceeds were donated directly to BCRF, supporting vital research and advancements in the fight against breast cancer.
Our Minneapolis location hosted a BCA Fashion Show raising a total of $11,500. “It is so near and dear to us in Minneapolis because staff, students, and clients have all been affected by breast cancer,” shared Admissions Manager, Cayle Kautzman.
Through the collective efforts of all Aveda Arts locations, we successfully raised $58,763 to support vital breast cancer research and awareness.
