Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute Lafayette would like to congratulate Hanna Burgess as the June Student of the Month!

Hanna Burgess is a graduate from Rayville High School. She loves watching TV, reading, and playing with her nephews. She is a salon concepts student right now and will be graduating this November. Hanna has a beautiful heart, willing spirit, and an extremely positive attitude. She is very deserving of student of the month!

Why Aveda?

“I thought if I was going to get a chance going back to school, I wanted to go to the best. I wanted a school that was going to challenge me and help me get to where I wanted to be.”

Why Hair?

“I came from a job where I sat at a computer and did the same thing for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. I loved my job, but after I was laid off I realized that’s not the type of job I wanted anymore. I wanted something exciting and challenging and I love that hair is ever changing. I also love meeting new people and hearing their stories so I thought what better way to get to do that.”

Favorite skill?

“I love color! I love that you get to be a little bit more creative with it.”

What are your plans after Aveda?

“My fingers are crossed that I get to stick around Lafayette and get to work in an Aveda Salon.”

Advice for peers?

“Start each day with a grateful heart!”
