We are excited to congratulate Kathryn Wallace for being Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute Lafayette’s May Student of the Month!
Kathryn “KK” Wallace graduated from Opelousas Catholic High and LSU in Fashion Merchandising. She was picked for student of the month because of her hard work and sweet soul! She will be graduating June 18th from Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute Lafayette. She would like to give a shout out to her educators, Kat and Mrs. Sylvia, and thank them for always being amazing, helpful, and knowledgeable. They are a huge part of where she is today!
We asked Kathryn some questions about her journey through her beauty school education. Read below.
Why Aveda?
“I have always loved the products and Aveda Salons. I had a few friends graduate from Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute and they had great things to say! Everything just worked out perfectly so I knew it was the right place for me!”
Why Esthiology?
“I have always loved make up and skin care. I just want for people to look as good on the outside as they feel on the inside.”
Favorite skill?
“Makeup will always be my passion but I love the massage and learning about all the products. I love making people feel great about themselves.”
After Aveda?
“I will definitely keep focusing on being a better makeup artist. I would love to work for a dermatologist or even in an Aveda Spa. I’m just going to see where God takes me and keep working hard!”
Advice for peers:
“Positivity! You must stay positive. It is so easy to let difficult times and negative people get you down but just stick to concentrating on your own success. I honestly stopped at the front door every morning on my way to class and said “Today is a new day and it’s going to be great!” One positive thought in the morning can change your whole day!”
