Congratulations to Shelby Alexander and Amanda Foley for being selected as Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute Birmingham’s July Students of the Month!

Shelby Alexander

“I chose Aveda because the second I walked through the doors, I felt at home. When they shared their mission statement with me, I felt this was the place for me. I have been given nothing but encouragement, knowledge and opportunity here at Aveda.”

Shelby is currently working at Sephora and hopes to gain more experience by  interning at local Spas in the area. Her favorite Aveda product is the Tourmaline Radiance Fluid because it gives skin a healthy glow with the benefit of amazing antioxidants.

Amanda Foley

Amanda chose Aveda because of the Mission that it stands for. The ways in which we give back to society really hit home with her. She is passionate about Breast cancer research and Earth month, both nonprofit organizations that we continue to raise awareness around.

She has always enjoyed making people smile and wanted to expand her knowledge in the beauty industry by attending the Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute. She loves how the educators and staff are dedicated to helping each student grow. She is currently working in a salon part time to gain more experience before finishing her education at the Institute.

Her favorite Aveda product is the Smooth Infusion Nourishing Cream because it helps to protect against heat and helps with damage, giving her guests an amazing blow out.
