Meet Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute Birmingham’s April Students of the Month!
Letty Marin
Cosmetology Student
Letty always knew she wanted to attend Cosmetology school but she wasn’t sure what school. A good friend of hers graduated from Aveda Birmingham in the esthetician program and recommend Letty begin her journey here. Since she enrolled she fell in love with the school and the products.
One her favorite things about Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute Birmingham is the one-on-one education her educators provide. She also loves the Grand Assemblies because they get everyone going for the day and she loves the energy behind it. Her favorite line from Aveda is the Smooth Infusion line because it makes her hair shiny, smooth and free of frizz. In her spare time, she enjoys staying busy by working outside of school. She was also chosen by the leadership team and being in good standing to assist on a photoshoot for B-Metro magazine in which she helped with hair and makeup for all the models. She is grateful for all the opportunities Aveda has provided for her. She is about to graduate so her plans are to save money so she can eventually open her own salon.

Elizabeth Hernandez
Cosmetology Student
Growing up Elizabeth always knew she wanted to be a hair stylist. Her sister-in-law graduated from the Institute several years ago and Elizabeth always admired her and she felt attending Aveda was the right choice for her as well. She loves how Aveda is eco-friendly and cares what we put in our bodies, and also the fact that our building is so sustainable. She enjoyed all her Educators since they all had a different perspective and teaching method. Her favorite Aveda product is the Phomollient because of the Marshmallow root ingredient and mainly because she believes it’s the most versatile product giving volume but also maintaining frizz and smoothing the hair. In her spare time, she watches Netflix and hangs out with her friends. Elizabeth is always up front assisting the guest care team with projects and walk in retail guests. She goes out of her way to help the school in any way that she can. She was also chosen to assist with a photo shoot for B-Metro Magazine where is did hair and makeup for all the models on set.

Brooklyn Hallman
Esthiology Student
Brooklyn has always loved makeup and skin care so right after high school, one of her classmates told her about Aveda. She loves the atmosphere of this school and how everyone is so caring and has each other’s back. She loves getting to help with events such as Guest Appreciation and the fashion shows. Her favorite Aveda line is the Outer Peace; she enjoys the Acne pads and the cleanser because it helps give you a flawless complexion. In her free time when she isn’t in school, she goes to the movies, shops and does makeovers for her friends and family.

When Brooklyn doesn’t have a guest, you can find her up front helping the guest care team because she enjoys educating guests on all the products. She is a tremendous help to our guest care team, assisting with whatever they need. She is a true go-getter and always takes initiative to help in any way that she can.
