Welcome to Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute San Antonio! Here, the focus is on preparing aspiring beauty pros who are passionate about making a difference in the industry to begin exciting careers as hair stylists, nail artists, makeup artists, or estheticians.
Our emphasis is on developing real-world skills and business acumen so that our graduates are ready and confident to launch into a career in beauty.
about Aveda Arts San Antonio—
Situated in a shopping center in the master-planned district of Stone Oak, the San Antonio campus is a conveniently short commute from most locations in the San Antonio area, thanks to its proximity to Interstates 35, 10, and 410 and Route 281. Most of our students drive to class, enjoying the ease of free parking outside our door.
If you’re familiar with this area, you know Stone Oak is home to everything you may need, from banks, healthcare facilities, and grocery stores to The Home Depot and Walgreens. Between and after classes, students often take advantage of LA Fitness right next door, as well as dining options such as Whataburger and Chick-fil-A and a coffee shop, Summer Moon Coffee. Students with children appreciate that we are located across the street from Country Kids Academy, a daycare facility.

The San Antonio campus emphasizes practical, real-world experience. Our training programs in cosmetology and esthetics include classroom learning and hands-on instruction. Students are given extensive opportunities to practice their skills with real clients in the campus salon and spa in the supportive presence of our capable instructors. Beauty programs also include in-depth training in business development, retail sales, growing and maintaining clientele, and other skills essential to long-term career success.
Students who enroll at the San Antonio campus each receive an iPad for assignments. And, of course, all our students benefit from training with the Aveda line of pure flower, plant-based, high-performance hair and skincare products that are respected worldwide. You also gain access to a global network of thousands of Aveda salons and spas.
Area students also may appreciate knowing that Aveda Arts & Sciences – San Antonio accepts students with diplomas from SA Leadership Academy and Victory Learning Center.

The San Antonio campus offers two tracks of practical training: two programs in Cosmetology and one in Esthetician.
Cosmetology
We offer both 1,000- and 1,500-hour Cosmetology program options. Both heavily focus on hair (cutting, styling, coloring, texturizing) and also teach makeup, nail services, and basic skincare. The 1,000-hour Cosmetology program includes instruction to prepare you for your Texas cosmetology operator exam and career, while the 1,500-hour option includes additional training and exposure to develop your artistry before you launch into your new beauty career.
Our programs are primarily for full-time students, classes are Wednesday through Saturday, 9 am until 5:30 pm.
Esthetician
Our Esthetician program prepares future skincare specialists to work in salons or spas, jobs that may eventually lead to positions such as spa directors, wellness consultants, or Aveda educators. Students learn how to perform facials, makeup applications, waxes, and other skincare and wellness rituals that are part of the Aveda experience.
Additionally, your training includes extensive instruction in business development and Aveda product recommendation and retail sales to help ensure you have the well-rounded skills to be a successful esthetician.
Our Esthetician students attend 4 days per week, Wednesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 pm. A part-time esthetician program is occasionally offered—check with admissions if there are upcoming part-time Esthetician class start dates.
